ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BROOCH SCOTTISH AGATE CIRCA 1860
A spectacular antique Scottish brooch from the Victorian era inlaid with colourful patterned Agates cut and polished to fit the brooches unique design.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
Each Agate is unique and boasts various earthy colours and patterned layers which are naturally formed, earning it the appropriate nickname ‘The Earth Rainbow’.
The gallery is all Silver and features an engraved border on the edge with a sturdy pin on the reverse. A highly collectable brooch and beautifully designed.
