A lovely antique Victorian Suffragette ring adorned with a 0.75ct violet Amethyst, two 0.25ct green Peridots and four small Diamonds.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
Set in an engraved 18ct Yellow Gold gallery which is complete with makers initials - M.K. – and hallmarks which date the piece to 1902.
