ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN FLORAL SUFFRAGETTE BROOCH 9CT GOLD CIRCA 1910
A lovely antique Suffragette brooch from the Edwardian era depicting wonderful flowing leaves and flowers decorated with Amethysts, Peridots and Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The piece is beautifully made and set in 9ct Yellow Gold. It would look lovely on a lapel.
