ANTIQUE ART DECO GOLD SNAKE NECKLACE GREEN GLASS CIRCA 1930
This fabulous Art Deco snake necklace is 18ct Gold cased, Circa 1930.
The snakes head is set with a rich green glass stone.
Serpent jewellery became popular during the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign coinciding with the full flowering of the Romantic Movement. Serpents represent love, loyalty and friendship, what a lovely combination. Serpents were given as a token of love and friendship during the Victorian Era.
This necklace sits round the neck like a choker, the design makes it comfortable to wear not too tight.
The reverse of the snakes head is hallmarked.
This is set with all round superb workmanship, it looks beautiful when worn making a lovely statement.
