ANTIQUE SUFFRAGETTE RING AMETHYST PERIDOT DIAMOND 18CT GOLD DATED 1918
This lovely antique 18ct Yellow Gold Suffragette ring is a late Edwardian piece, fully hallmarked and dated London 1918.
The ring features violet Amethyst’s, green Peridots and sparkling white Diamonds making up the Suffragette colours.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The largest Amethyst is approx. 0.40ct flanked by smaller 0.18ct Amethysts and two 0.22ct Peridots.
The ring is very eye catching and looks beautiful upon the finger.
