ANTIQUE SUFFRAGETTE PENDANT NECKLACE EDWARDIAN CIRCA 1910
A wonderful antique Suffragette necklace featuring a fabulous pendant adorned with a green 0.75ct Peridot, a 0.20ct violet Amethyst dropper and decorated in lovely white Pearls.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The pendant and chain are modelled in 9ct Yellow Gold and feature faded hallmarks on the reverse of the pendant which are difficult to make out, but we believe it to be Edwardian Circa 1910.
A lovely antique necklace that hangs beautifully around the neck.
Weighs 5 grams
