Details
An extravagant Georgian cluster ring boasting a sizable silver gallery encrusted with a glittering array of old cut pastes that have been foil backed to increase their sparkle.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that has been used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.
The closed-back gallery dates to the Georgian era (Circa 1800) and features faded maker’s initials on the back. It may have started life as a brooch or hat pin and has been converted over time with the addition of a new 18ct gold band with beautiful, floral engraving down the sides.
It’s a spectacular statement piece, truly one of a kind and is sure to dazzle and impress.
