ART DECO STYLE PASTE AND PERIDOT RING
This fabulous ring boasts beautiful Art Deco style workmanship,
set in silver gilded in 18ct yellow Gold.
The ring is set with lovely paste stones and a large central
peridot that is set in a rub over setting.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire
and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices
of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were
very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
The peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to
be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered
it a gift from Mother Nature.
Made in the style of the Art Deco period.
Art Deco, named after the 1925 Paris Exposition des Arts Decoratifs
et Industriels Modernes, represents the style of the decorative
arts popular between the two wars.
