ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SUFFRAGETTE ROUND 9CT PENDANT CIRCA 1900
This elegant Victorian 9ct Gold Suffragette pendant is Circa 1900.
Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
The wonderful pendant is adorned with a 0.25ct Amethyst in the centre, a lovely 0.20ct Peridot dropper and decorated in lovely cream Pearls.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.
