This fabulous Victorian 18ct Yellow Gold Suffragette ring is, Circa 1900
The outstanding ring is decorated in a trilogy of Diamonds that sit across the centre of the gallery.
Four beautiful, green Peridots surround the Diamonds and are 0.8ct each, two Amethyst’s sit around the outer edge both being 0.10each.
This fabulous combination of gemstones represents such a powerful time.
Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
Hallmarks can been seen inside the shank.
