This fabulous antique Victorian brooch is made in the Suffragette style, Circa 1900.

Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!

The wonderful brooch is decorated with sparkling Paste stones in the Suffragette colours violet, green and white.

Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.

Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. They sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.

The brooch is all set in a Base Metal gallery displaying beautiful Victorian workmanship of it’s time.

The brooch looks fabulous when worn, a very eye catching piece.
