This genuine Antique Sterling Silver Suffragette necklace is Circa 1900.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
Green is for give, white is for women and violet is for votes.
This lovely necklace displays beautiful floral workmanship and adorned with colourful green, white and purple Paste Stones.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones.
They sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.
Double green Paste Stones also sit in the secure clasp, all set in Sterling Silver.
The chain around the back will have been added at a later date.
