ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SILVER EROS BROOCH CIRCA 1900
This wonderful antique Victorian Sterling Silver Eros brooch is Circa 1900.
The brooch boasts intricate engraved detail and depicts the Greek God Eros with wings outstretched and bow string drawn.
Eros is the Greek God of love. Similar to his Latin counterpart Cupid, Eros was known to fire arrows which would pierce a persons heart and overwhelm them with desire and longing. This act today we know as ‘love at first sight’.
The brooch is all set in Sterling Silver and complete with hallmarks and makers initials ‘D.H.P’ on the reverse.
Purchased in London and steeped in English history. The brooch is filled with romantic symbolism and looks beautiful when worn.
