ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SILVER EAGLE BROOCH CUT STEEL CIRCA 1900
This stunning large antique Silver Victorian Eagle brooch is Circa 1900.
The detailed Eagle is depicted wings outstretched and decorated in sparkling Cut Steel studs with a red Paste eye.
Cut-steel jewellery is set with faceted and polished steel studs that resemble gemstones. This type of jewellery was popular during the Victorian era with finer, older pieces having more faceted studs.
Paste is a transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. Red Pastes sparkle like Rubies which are a symbol of friendship, love and loyalty.
The brooch is hallmarked ‘Silver’ on the reverse and fitted with a secure pin and safety catch.
