ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SCOTTISH AGATE ARROW AND SHIELD BROOCH 18CT GOLD CIRCA 1860
This wonderful antique Scottish Arrow and Shield brooch is Victorian, Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The shield and Arrow are set in 18ct Yellow Gold and feature beautiful engraved detailing and lovely Agates which are cut to fit the intricate shapes of the design.
Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for it’s patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.
The brooch is complete with Scottish kite hallmark on the reverse and fitted with a solid Gold pin.
A highly collectable Scottish brooch and a rare find.
