This unique antique 18ct Yellow Gold on Silver Victorian Scarab beetle Necklace is Circa 1900.
The wonderful pendant is adorned with a Scarab beetle with a shimmering natural green shell which is claw set on fabulous engraved Gold wings.
Scarabs were popular symbols in Ancient Egypt and represented renewal and regeneration. In the 1820’s King Tutankhamen’s tomb was discovered in Egypt and brought new interest to Scarab jewellery which was worn as a good luck charm across Europe.
The pendant is also fitted with a lovely Pearl dropper dangling from the gallery.
This is a very unique, collectable necklace that looks beautiful when worn, very eye catching!
