ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD MINING BROOCH GOLD GILT CIRCA 1880
A beautifully crafted late antique Victorian Gold Mining brooch featuring a shovel and pick axe with a small bucket dangling below and a large Gold nugget resting on the end of the shovel.
Brooches such as this came about during the late 19th century Gold rush and were offered as a lucky token to those who had gone in search of Gold and hoped to return with riches.
The piece is Gold gilt and displays beautiful engraved workmanship with a pin and safety chain to secure it. It is a wonderful piece of history and highly collectable.
