Antique Victorian Angel Wing Pearl Paste Brooch Circa 1890
This wonderful Victorian Angel wing brooch is set in Silver 800, adorned in Paste stones and a rich creamy Pearl in the centre, Circa 1890.
Angel wing jewellery is very special because it has a personal meaning connected to it. The symbol is related to angels, which symbolise protection, affection, and harmony. Angels provide hope and happiness.
Paste is hand-cut glass that has been polished with metal powder until it shimmers like a gemstone. They are also a transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, because they have a relatively high indices of refraction and a strong dispersion.
Stamped 800 Silver on the reverse.
