ANTIQUE SCOTTISH SILVER AGATE BROOCH - LARGE BROOCH WITH SHIELD CIRCA 1860
This is a fabulous Victorian large Scottish Sterling Silver Agate brooch set
with a mixture of gemstones and Agates, with a large
central agate shield in the centre.
The brooch is Circa 1860, a genuine Antique Scottish Brooch.
An example of the finer quality pieces which are left in the UK of Scottish Jewellery.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a
souvenir of her trips to Scotland.
From the mid 1800's Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her
Scottish Castle Balmoral.
Lots of lovely natural agates are set into this pristine Victorian
Silver Scottish brooch.
The jewellery comprises of different coloured Agates with natural graining
of the stone showing through.
A closed backed silver gallery with original pin and over catch,
this really is spectacular.
Makers initials or the persons name who owned it E. Atkinson
is engraved on the reverse.
It has been tested for Silver using jewellery acid testers.
