This antique Sterling Silver Scottish Celtic pendant is beautiful, Circa 1900.

The pendant is set with a large, deep red Paste Stone in the centre.

Paste is hand-cut glass that has been polished with metal powder until it shimmers like a gemstone. They are also a transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, because they have a relatively high indices of refraction and a strong dispersion.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.

Showing fabulous all round Scottish workmanship with engraved celtic details throughout.

Looks beautiful when worn, it truly is an eye-catching piece.

Hallmarks can be seen on the reverse, possibly the makers mark.

Steeped in history.
