ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SCOTTISH CAIRNGORM BROOCH 9CT GOLD CIRCA 1880
This fabulous antique Victorian Scottish brooch is C.1880 and adorned with a large honey coloured Cairngorm claw set in the centre.
Cairngorm is a type of Quartz found in the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland. It is most commonly yellow/ brown in colour and shines with radiant beauty.
Six more colourful Quartz stones decorate the piece and stand individually encircling the central stone in a lovely crown shaped design.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The brooch is substantial and set in 9ct Yellow Gold with a secure pin and safety catch at the back.
The piece is steeped in history and very eye catching.
