This is a fabulous large Sterling Silver plaid Scottish Agate brooch, set with inlaid Scottish Agates.
This is most unique, it is Circa 1860.
This beautiful Scottish Silver brooch has the most pristine workmanship throughout.
The brooch comprises of different coloured Agates with the natural graining of the stone showing through and polished to a very high standard.
Scottish Jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her trips to Scotland from the mid 1800’s.
Queen Victoria frequented Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral.
Complimented with a lovely engraved edged border around the gallery.
With a closed backed silver gallery and original pin.
Purchased in London and steeped in history.
