This genuine Victorian Sterling Silver Suffragette necklace is stunning.

Circa 1900.

Set with beautiful old cut Paste Stones that lead to a lovely heart pendant dropper.

Old Cut Paste Stones sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.

Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.

Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine.

Their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!

Green is for give, white is for women and violet is for votes.

Complete with a concealed box fastener, crowned with Paste stones.

Beautiful all round workmanship and lovely floral design.

Steeped in English history, purchased in London.

Looks fabulous when worn, a real talking piece.
