ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN AMETHYST PERIDOT LAVALIERE SUFFRAGETTE NECKLACE CIRCA 1910
A spectacular antique Suffragette lavaliere necklace from the Edwardian era featuring a drop pendant adorned with a Pearl, 2ct Peridot and two beautiful Amethyst the largest of which is approx. 8ct with a square cut stone at the top which is around 6ct.
Suffragette jewellery was worn to show one’s allegiance to the women’s Suffragette movement in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which carried the message: Green for Give, white for Women and violet for Votes!
The stones are set in 9ct Yellow Gold and fitted to a 9ct chain finished with a barrel clasp. It is a wonderful representation of the movement and extremely beautiful.
