ANTIQUE GEORGIAN GOLD MOURNING CUFFLINKS CIRCA 1780
These fabulous antique Georgian mourning cufflinks are Circa 1780.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. This extended period gave rise to many fashions and styles that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
The cufflinks have developed a lovely smooth finish with age and are adorned with Crystal windows which display beautiful brown plaited hair underneath.
Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it. It was a souvenir to remember a loved one or a reminder to the living of the inevitability of death.
