ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PASTE LONG EARRINGS SILVER 18CT CIRCA 1800
These delightful Georgian Paste drop earrings are Circa 1800.
Each Paste stone is cushion cut, sparkling just like Diamonds.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837 four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this extended period, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
Set in Sterling Silver with 18ct Yellow Gold Shepherds hook wires.
These look fabulous when worn, they would be perfect for a special occasion or gift.
They are steeped in history from the Georgian era.
They weigh 6.3 grams.
They measure 35mm down x 10mm across.
