ANTIQUE GEORGIAN PASTE COLLAR NECKLACE CIRCA 1820
This fabulous Georgian Sterling Silver necklace is Circa 1820.
Set with lovely old cut Paste stones that have a black hand painted gallery around each stone.
Each Paste stone is approx. 1ct in size.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
The necklace is Silver gilt, Sterling Silver gilded in Gold.
This is really an incredible necklace which is steeped in English history.
Set with a closed backed gallery which is typical of the Georgian Era.
This is all original.
