ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN MARCASITE BOW BROOCH SILVER CIRCA 1910
This beautiful Silver Edwardian bow brooch is adorned in Marcasites, Circa 1910.
During the Edwardian period jewellery became strikingly feminine with a lacy and delicate appearance. Bows very quickly became modern motifs.
The bow brooch shows fabulous details.
Marcasite's are also known as black Diamonds, they sparkle and shimmer just like real Diamonds. Marcasite jewellery has been made since the time of the Ancient Greeks. It was particularly popular in the 18th century, the Victorian era and with Art Nouveau jewellery designers.
Hallmarked Silver on the reverse.
This would look fabulous worn, a real statement piece.
