ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD SUFFRAGETTE NECKLACE CIRCA 1900
This fabulous Antique 9ct Yellow Gold Victorian Suffragette necklace is Circa 1900.
Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote. Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
This beautifully designed Pendant is adorned with Violet Amethyst’s, green Peridots and lovely cream Pearls.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate and soothe the mind and emotions.
The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.
Pearls have a wonderful lustre with a rich creamy tone, they are lovely lustrous and natural.
All set in Yellow Gold, including the chain and complete with 9ct hallmark on the reverse.
